The Queer Youth Dialogues:
Universal Periodic Review Submission

The Queer Youth Dialogues constitute a year-long campaign which aim to build the capacity of global LGBTIQ youth led, focused, and organised movements, organisations, and groups. Aligned with this broad goal is the amplification of LGBTIQ youth voices through a variety of modes, this mode involves activating Young LGBTIQ activists within the Human Right Council’s mechanism: The Universal Periodic Review (UPR). This series of workshop sessions & independent consultations on specific documents aim to provide a platform for LGBTIQ youth to contribute their voice to this meaningful high-level mechanism and procedure.
The 41st session of the 4th cycle of the UPR includes Algeria, Bahrain, Brazil, Ecuador, Finland, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, South Africa, Tunisia, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The deadline for NGO report contributions for this session is March 31st 2022, it is proposed that the participant group of the Queer Youth Dialogues is welcomed into a workshop space which introduces the process of SOGIESC advocacy within UPR mechanisms. This workshop will be considered a lab experience for emergent activists who are interested in actively engaging in UN procedures, with the results of the workshops and contributions being a dedicated focus on LGBTIQ+ youth in ILGA World’s report to this session.
Why should you take part?
