The Global Queer Youth Network is governed by its co-chairs who are elected by membership of the Network.

Member organisations of the Global Queer Youth Network nominate one primary point of contact for their membership.

The GQYN, as an emergent and volunteer-led network, is supported in its ongoing operation and development by ILGA World, who act as a secretariat in its continued development, providing consultancy support.
